Observations about Florence

-vendors are less abundant and less persistent here
-the city is beautiful but...man, sometimes it really smells unpleasant
-everything is within walking distance, which is really nice
-some of the best gelato places are here (in my opinion) because they have great flavors for cheaper than in Rome
-feels safer than Rome and the streets are well-lit at night
-the Florence card is actually a pretty sweet deal (50 euro card gives you access to 60+ museums and attractions for 72 hours)
-hardly any water fountains to refill your supply (Rome had fountains all over the place!), so make sure you fill up whenever you find a place because they are few and far between

I really like your observations post after you leave a city. It's interesting to note the differences.
